This article describes the waiting lists and waiting times in general health care. It concentrates on family doctors and medical specialists and discusses among others their training. Several factors that influence the waiting times in a positive or negative way are described. In the health care system does exist a market mechanism concerning negotiations on salaries and work conditions. But the market doesn´t function for the inhibition of the ever increasing medical demand.
